What an awesome vacation that was! After a 2 hour train ride from York to Manchester, an almost 8 hour plane ride from Manchester to Philadelphia, and then a 4 hour drive back to VA, we were all very tired, happy to be home and and feeling wonderful from having had such a tremendous vacation. Happy 4th of July! Here's Pauline's Travel Journal for July 4th in York and Leeds, England.
Hello Friends and Family, here are our photos from our fist Day in York England. We enjoyed a fabulous day of sightseeing. Things here are so OLD, and very interesting. Our tour guide described it as a layer cake of history from Roman to Viking to Anglo Saxon, the kings and queens and so on through the time line of history all up through the layers of the soil of York. More good stuff to follow!
Pauline is keeping a travel journal of our 2008 vacation in York and Tusacany. Here she is reveiwing the events of our first day in York, England. In York we are visiting with Simon and Andrea, our cousins from Melbourne Australia. They are living in England for a few years. They have two kids, Kate and Anna, and Pauline and the boys are excited to have time with their cousins!
